While Associates are usually internal-facing positions, Consultants are client-facing positions. This could partly explain the pay gap because consultants need to travel more and have more responsibility. This can include daily business trips stipends for a consultant like meals, accommodation, flights, and taxi.
However, at EY-Parthenon, both Associate and Associate Consultant roles are paid roughly the same amount, around $90,000 to $130,000 a year. This is the same level of pay as an EY Consultant - while an EY-P Associate/Consultant’s base salary is lower, the additional pay is better than an EY Consultant.

EY-Parthenon has a better base pay and bonus package for their Senior Associate, which can earn $104,000 - $158,000 annually. This is 11-17% higher than their EY counterpart, thanks to higher bonuses.
A senior EY-P Consultant's salary can be much higher than their EY counterpart. An EY-P Consultant can earn between $134,000 to $198,000 a year.
At EY-P, the senior-level sees a large pay gap between Senior Associate and Consultant roles. This is similar to other large consulting firms, where there’s a clear distinction between Consultants and supporting Associates.

At EY, a partner makes between $264,000 - $483,000 annually. Over half of their income comes in the form of additional pay. EY-Parthernon offers a higher salary level for their partners, $372,000 - $661,000 a year. Similar to EY Partners, half of their income is from additional pay.
